It is the goal of Yoga to achieve the unity of consciousness of the seeker with the Divine in all its aspects, transcendent, universal and individual. The realisation is not some kind of mental acknowledgement or an emotional attachment. And because of the infinite nature of the Divine, both in the unmanifest aspect and in the universal creation, the realisation must take on the character of an embrace of that infinity and not try to narrow down or limit the identification to one specific narrow aspect or another.
Sri Aurobindo describes the requirement: “An integral consciousness with a multiform dynamic experience is essential for the complete transformation of our nature.”
